ExcelAire

On Sept. 29, 2006, the private jet charter company, ExcelAire (www.excelaire.com) was involved in one of the worst airline accidents in the history of Brazilian aviation.  During this crisis, LCH Communications provided crisis communications support to ExcelAire and assisted in bringing the pilots back to the U.S. After their more than 70-day detainment in Brazil, the pilots returned to the U.S. In December, we held a welcome home event for the pilots, with more than 30 major media outlets in attendance. That day, that story was featured in the New York Daily News, The New York Times, and Newsday along with tv coverage on CNN, TODAY, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and other outlets. Throughout the crisis, we worked with print and broadcast media outlets in the U.S., Brazil and worldwide, as well as with major industry organizations, such as the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the Flight Safety Foundation, pilots associations and elected officials.

CardStore.com provides a quick and easy way for consumers and small businesses to select and purchase cards via its web site. Then, CardStore addresses, stamps and mails the cards. For the holiday season, LCH Communications launched a holiday public relations program for CardStore.com that resulted in media coverage in: The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, USA Today, BusinessWeek, The Today Show, San Francisco Business Times, and more.

BabyCenter.com was launched in 1997 to provide parenting advice on the Internet. To create awareness for the company among Internet-savvy parents, LCH Communications developed and implemented a public relations program aimed at consumers.

Innovative public relations programs for BabyCenter.com include the “most popular baby names” program, revealing the most popular baby names annually, garnering coverage in USA Today, The New York Times, Orlando Sentinel, San Francisco Chronicle, Parents, and Parenting. As a result of its PR program, BabyCenter.com became the #1 web site for new and expectant parents and was purchased by eToys, before it went public. Winner of three Webby awards (web industry awards), BabyCenter today receives more than 2 million visitors per month.

Probotics

This Pittsburgh-based start-up company had a very small marketing budget for the launch of its first personal robot, called Cye, funds which they decided to devote to public relations to create awareness and drive sales for this innovative new product. Thanks to LCH Communications, the Cye media coverage was exceptional.

LCH Communications secured major national media stories for Cye in many outlets including The Today Show, Time, US News & World Report, The New York Times, USA Today, Popular Science, USA Weekend, Family PC, New Scientist, Esquire, Wired and more. These media stories generated sales and inquiries from all over the world. In addition, the company leveraged these successful publicity efforts with venture capitalists to raise funding for its subsequent robotics product, aimed at the hospital market.
